News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 4, 2020
Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is well rested for the last few weeks of semester #1 at Brandon High School. Please note that all students that have elected to participate in face-to-face schooling will be back in person on Monday, January 4th. School starts at 7:20 with a “B” Day (Hours 4-6). This Week’s Schedule: Monday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Tuesday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Wednesday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Thursday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Friday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) January Calendar: Please see the attached January calendar. Please note that if we have a snow day called, there will be no school for both face-to-face learners as well as virtual learners. In the event that a snow day happens, our A-B-A-B-A-B schedule will still stay intact and we will shift the calendar with us returning to school proceeding with the day that was missed. COVID Alert: It is extremely important that you let Brandon High School know if anyone in your family has been diagnosed with COVID over the holidays and/or has come in direct contact with anyone that has tested positive. As a reminder, if your student has any of the symptoms of COVID that you should keep them home and get further directions from the school. Attached are some documents from the Oakland County Health Department to help you with making these decisions. Also, please see the Oakland County Health Department’s K-12 Education COVID Website for a plethora of information. Athletics: As of this moment all Winter sports are set to resume practices on January 16th. Please make sure to see your individual coach for more detailed information. You can always visit our Brandon School District Athletic Page as well at https://brandonblackhawks.org/ Dates to Place on Your Calendar Now: January 15th – 18th – No School (Mid Winter Break) January 26th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 1-2) January 27th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 3-4) January 28th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 5-6) January 28th – End of Semester #1 January 29th – No School February 5th – Report Cards Sent Home If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our school administrators.
