News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week for February 1, 2021
This Week’s Schedule Monday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Tuesday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Wednesday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Thursday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Friday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) New Semester Begins: This Monday, February 1st marks the beginning of semester #2. All students should get on the student portal to see their new schedules for this semester. If your student sees a scheduling issue or has a gap in their schedule, please have them come to the counseling office during the hour that is in question. February Calendar: Please see the attached February calendar. Seniors: The deadline to order your cap and gown, announcements, rings, etc. is quickly approaching. Please pick up a packet from Herff-Jones in the main office if you have not done this yet. OSTC Students: All OSTC students are back one day a week for face-to-face instruction at OSTC. This week, all morning OSTC students should report to OSTC in person on Monday, and all afternoon OSTC students should report on Tuesday. The rest of the week would be asynchronous learning. Sophomores: About 10% of our student body attends the Oakland County Technical Campus for technical training when it comes to many careers. In the coming weeks our counseling staff will be visiting your classrooms to talk about these programs more in depth and to register sophomore students that may be interested. Please click on the OSTC Virtual Showcase for more information about this amazing program that is offered to our students. DEEP: DEEP is a dual enrollment program through the University of Michigan Flint where high school students can earn both high school credit and college credit simultaneously. Please see the attached flyer for more information about a February 9th informational meeting. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to be a part of. Report Cards: Report cards will be coming home this Friday with your student. These grades will also be accessible online through the parent and student portals. If you have questions about your student’s grades, please see their individual teachers. COVID Reminders: Please see the attached check list when it comes to making a decision on whether or not you should keep your student home with a sickness. In all cases when your student is sick, please make sure that you let Brandon High School know. For more district information concerning COVID, including numbers of students quarantined, please see the Brandon COVID-19 District Webpage.
