News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 15, 2018

No School:  Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday January 15, 2018.

Principal’s Council:  We will hold our monthly Principal’s Council meeting this Tuesday, January 16th at 6:00.  This is a time where all parents are invited to come in and meet with the principal to get an in depth update of what is going on at BHS, offer feedback on how we can improve, and help us through the school improvement process.  We hope to see you all there.

End of Semester:  The end of the semester is January 25th with final exams accounting for 20% of your student’s overall grade.  Please make sure that all assignments are complete and that your students are studying for their final exams.

Baseball Fundraiser:  Please see the attached flyer for a baseball fundraiser that will take you down to Detroit for some gaming and fun.

Juniors:  Besides your grade point average the single biggest factor that will determine what college or university you get into will be based on your SAT score.  Please start thinking about that now and how you will prepare.  Attached is a flyer for a highly recommended SAT Prep class that we encourage for our students.

Be Bold and Present Yourself Fearlessly:  Please see the attached flyer for a class that will be taking place at Brandon High School that will help your students build confidence when it comes to speaking and leadership.

Cookies, Cocoa, and Cram (Freshmen):  Cocoa and Cram is a session for all freshmen to help them get ready and prepare for their upcoming final exams.  Link Crew members and Teachers will be here to help you study, and prepare.  This session will take place after school on Monday, December 22nd from 3:00 – 5:00.  Good Luck on finals!

All Sports Brandon Boosters:  After 15 years of service, the board for the Brandon Boosters will be retiring.  We are in desperate need of additional volunteers.  By volunteering you could have your student athlete’s pay to play fees waived.  Please see the attached document for more information on being a part of this amazing group.

Blackhawk Hotline:  If you ever have any anonymous information that you would like the Brandon High School administration to know about you can test the Blackhawk Hotline at 248-660-0138.  All information is confidential and completely anonymous.

Have a Great Week and GO BLACKHAWKS
