News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of March 9, 2018

Seniors:  Due to the snow day last week, Herrf-Jones will be here to deliver your announcements and other miscellaneous graduation accessories Monday during all lunches.  Caps and Gowns will be delivered in May.

Parent Teacher Conferences:  Just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are on March 20th from 5:00 – 8:00.

Summer School:  Brandon High School will be offering a wide array of summer school classes this summer.  If your student is behind towards credits, please contact Nick Ejak at nejak@brandon.k12.mi.us to discuss which classes that they should be taking.  Please look for the official summer school flyer to be coming out in the next couple of weeks.

Wizard of Oz:  Come and support the BHS theater as they perform the Wizard of OZ this Friday (7:00), Saturday (7:00) and Sunday (2:00) at Brandon High School.  This is sure to be one of their best shows ever.  See the attached flyer for more details.

Advanced Placement Students:  Next Week is AP Exam Registrations March 12th through March 16th!  Registration takes place before and after school, and during lunches.

Please encourage your student to consider taking these exams, in hopes of earning college credit.  Passing scores are awarded college credit at almost all universities, resulting in savings of roughly $1,500 per course!

Students should receive AP Exam Registration Forms from their AP teachers.  Additional registration forms are available in the counseling office.  Students need one registration form for each exam.  Payment for multiple tests can be combined.  Please have your student turn in payment  with completed registration forms to the counseling office.  The cost per AP exam is $94.  Please bring exact change if paying cash. Checks or Money orders are preferred.

Students who are enrolled in the Free or Reduced Lunch Program are eligible to pay a reduced fee of $33.

AP exams occur on a strict schedule set by the College Board between Monday May 7th and Friday May 18th.  There will not be an opportunity for make-ups for missed exams.
