Brandon High School News and Notes for the Week of April 30, 2018
 
 
Drugs / Opioids:  Brandon High School in conjunction with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital is pleased to be able to bring our parents and community a presentation on teenage drug use.  Please consider joining us for this very insightful evening on May 14th at 6:30.  Please see the attached flyer for more details. 
 
Teacher Appreciation:  On Thursday, May 10th we will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with a luncheon for all of our teaching staff at Brandon High School.  We are asking any parents or community members to consider bringing in a dish to help celebrate this day.  Please drop off any items to BHS by 10:30 a.m.  If you could RSVP to Nancy Dery so that we know we will have enough food that would be great.  She can be reached at ndery@brandon.k12.mi.us or at 248-627-1822.  Thank you so much for your support!
 
Attendance:  We have seen an increase in tardies and unexcused absences lately at Brandon High School.  Please make sure that you call our attendance line within 24 hours if you student is going to be out of school.  This is a 24 hour hotline and can be reached at 248-627-1825.
 
Suicide Prevention:  There is one more opportunity for our students, parents, and community members to be trained in suicide prevention on May 1st.  Please see the attached flyer for more details. 
 
Summer School:  We will be offering a wide variety of summer school classes this summer.  Please contact Nick Ejak (nejak@brandon.k12.mi.us) if you have questions or would like to know if your student is behind in their credits.  To sign up for summer school and get more information please click HERE.  Summer school will run the weeks of June 18th, June 25th and July 9th Monday – Thursday.  Also, see the attached flyer for more details.
 
Testing Out:  If your student would like to attempt to test out of a class, please fill out the attached form and return it to the counseling office by June 1st.  The date of the test will be in late August during registration days.
